Clowns, baby

Pretty things from dangerous people

I don't know how my designer pals MiaSnow, Katat0nik & Allegory can join all the events they join and still have time to make stuff for their own stores. Not much of this outfit is from Horrorfest, which is astonishing. I still love it all (I am enamoured of that creepily beautiful clown makeup), and now I'm off exploring a rumor of pumpkins. I hope your fabulous Octobers are going well! Mine is about as macabre as I might wish.

Cajsa wrote a really great post about how bloggers should have patience in building their brands before they ask for free stuff. I have to agree; I'm only just rebuilding Achariya.net after two years off, and despite operating since 2008, I've been shy to ask for anything from anyone. When I began, there was only one feed and only about 100 people on it. We didn't ask for free stuff, and we didn't expect it. Blogging has certainly evolved into something much more complicated since, but I think the original spirit has to remain. Are you blogging for the joy of it? ARE YOU SURE? Then quit asking for free sh*t. :D
