I'm in a new skin by Plastik today, the Fingerprint skin in Story skintone. There are in fact smeared fingerprints all over the skin, and I love the effect. It's a clever idea for makeup, and I think it looks GREAT with this Rebel Hope wedding dress.

I'm having a quiet Fourth so far, blogging in-between cleaning house and doing errands with the child. I feel the summer doldroms pretty fiercely, and I'm questioning my SL raison d'etre this week. Whenever I lose someone from my SLife I pause and think about why I play this game. I think ultimately it's a place that spawns creativity -- a land where we can be God-like creatures and create and destroy with an easy sense of detachment, because none of it impacts us physically. Much. I remember watching Aisuru Reiko destroying a house, sitting on a part of it and getting rocketted high, high into the air, falling somewhere… Maybe it's time for a paradigm change for me too, blow it all up and redefine the game again.

Why hello, boy-avatar. It's been a while! I'm not sure why I got distracted from it, but he perked up when he heard about the ~silentsparrow~ 50L shark-infested basement sale. I do love the Oz hunts. There's something incredibly satisfying about tromping through Oz and picking up fun stuff like ruby slippers or strawberries, and then making the pilgrimage over to each maker and getting something. It makes me feel as if I've actually earned the free item with my time and energy! Well, ok, I didn't earn it, it's a complete treat. There are two neat events going on right now. The first is the Black Bacchanal, which is happening over here on Love/Hate land. Fricka made this amazing ensemble for it -- a brass-colored Belle Epoque dress complete with two kinds of skirts and two kinds of shirts, all for the price of 113L. (ARE YOU NUTS, FRICKA?) She also made this glorious skin that comes with or without the boob shading. I am a sucker for brass to begin with, so this whole look is kind of Acha-crack. (SLURL to the Bacchanal)
