Pimp!
Please go see Acha turn zombie for Serene Fairey! Isn't she lovely? Serene's avvie reminds me so much of Rizzo from Grease, same adorable spunkiness.
My daughter thinks she's supergirl

Good morning. I've already been to work and back! I spent my morning restocking the shelves of a certain retail store, sighing as I answered incessant questions about a highly publicized new product… No, it isn't out yet, darnit. 50-ish more days. I've been delighted recently by the dreadlocks coming from Tukinowaguma. This is the second one I've bought, and I like how they've constructed it -- soft and thick-looking, perfect for catching sand on the beach. My cardigan is a new one from Ki2. Tee hee, Kiki named it "unisexual cardigan" -- I'll try. The necklace is the neat "hopeless" rosary from House of Darcy, a delicate chain with a skull on it. Alas. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication

When I first decided to blog more seriously as a boy in this space, I hung out with a few actual boys and began to slowly soak up their style. I admit that I never paid attention to what men wore in SL before this -- it seemed unnecessary. Besides, wasn't male adornment simply jeans and a t-shirt and maybe a bracelet? I was very wrong. There are all kinds of subtle details of outfit that I didn't really think about, like finger tape, the right tattoo, the right facial piercing, maybe a good belt or a watch, definitely a hat. It was a learning process, and I have to thank those folks for helping guide my boy's style. Hence this week's homage, in honor of the guy who inspired my boy avatar to own more underpants than my girl. Lol.
I stole my shirt right off of Tact Arida's back (he's so cute!). The too-tight So Many Styles pants are in honor of severine Morrisey, who is always making me question whether he's gay or European :D. And the hair is the final hair in this week of homage, Gritty Kitty's DaVinci Reloaded. It defines a moment in style, I think, for that perfect "I don't give a shit about my hair, that's why I'm going to put on this hat and look fabulous" look. (SLURL to Gritty Kitty)

Sock eaters anonymous

It was a teaching day again today, so I'll keep it short. First, my necklace is a locket carefully crafted by a cute little furry boy. If you click it, the heart opens and reveals a picture (you can change the texture to whatever you want) on one side, an image of a music box on the other. Music tinkles from the locket… (SLURL to Dokutoku)
The dress is another perfect creation from G*Field. I do so love this shop, it appeals to the dainty little lolita in me (who carries a picture of her boy-self in that locket, actually, hm). The hair is an old one from Gritty Kitty, the Thursday. It's still one of the cutest tophat and pony-knot in SL, proof that good quality lasts. (SLURL to Gritty Kitty)

How do you get to Carnegie Hall?

Ever get into a compromising-looking situation with your avatar only to totally crash and get logged back in at HELP ISLAND 008 ? Well, *cough*, let's just say I hastily threw on a pair of pants. This is why I accidentally donned the wrong pants cuffs for the bottom photo! Anyway, this post is about the ~silentsparrow~ suit sale going on now at the main store. 50% off everything in the suit room, so I took the opportunity to pick up a version of this very, very pretty suit for my boy avvie here. (SLURL to ~silentsparrow~)
"Why'd you name that Carnegie?" I asked him. "Because it was practice." Practice or not, the Gritty Kitty Carnegie hair is hella cute, with two long elven feelers escaping the pulled-back ponytail to dangle against the chin. Another fine hairdo for men, women and elves. (SLURL to Gritty Kitty)

Happy fecking Valentine's?

A few weeks ago HUZ released this tattoo, which I've dubbed the saddest tattoo in Second Life. It gives you instructions on how to be emo, just in case you missed them back in high school. I thought the tattoo worked well with my completely unintentional Valentine's Day theme. I'm wearing the Nomine Rusted Jeans in Valentines color as well. He's all ready for a bad romance! (SLURL to HUZ) (SLURL to Nomine)
The hair is a relatively new release from Gritty Kitty, the Jack. It has a little toque, and I really like how the hairline is peeking out the top of the hat. Well done, thar, buddeh. It only occured to me afterwards that my poor avvie is now a dead ringer for Marcel Marceau in his toque and gloves :D. (SLURL to Gritty Kitty)

***Cigarette: Naith Smit Cigarette
***Boots: Grasp si*na leather boots/brown
***Tattoos: HUZ Emo-tional; and the underwear layer for amnesia for him snuck in.

Bump that track

Yesterday, a friend of mine interviewed me about Second Life. He's not a player, but had some good questions about the meaning of fashion in this space. As I said to him, I think it goes beyond clothing, simply because you can manipulate your entire being with no regard for physics or physiques. It made me pause to think: I can be anything I want in Second Life. Do I really want to be a bipedal mammal?
Leaving that thought where it is, I really like what Anya Ohmai is doing with her silhouettes collection. The prims are quirky and well-fitted, and I like the starkly wearable colors and cuts of the outfits. The hair is, of course, Gritty Kitty (post three!). It's Duck, and reminds me a lot of my dad's earnestly professorial hair in the 70s. It should go with a full shaggy hippie beard, but that wouldn't have looked good with this frock. Is it crossdressing if I'm female?

Hunain Bellic of HUZ has created a spare, elegant new look for his store. The launch party is coming up, but if you want a sneak preview (and a look at some of his new tattoos for the release), they're currently up in his shop. I love this Henna Reborn design. I understand that henna is actually reserved for women in some cultures, but I suspect that the laws can be a little relaxed in a space like Second Life. (Also. I'm female. So…uh, yeah.) There are plenty of manly tattoos at HUZ too, including the EMO-tion one that I forgot to post about. (SLURL to HUZ)
I'm not sure why Acha spends so much time on the beach during the winter, but he's done it enough to get a tan line :D. It's probably the influence of living in Florida, eh? Today is the second post in Gritty Kitty hair week, and I'm actually wearing hair made for a girl, Bubble Gum. It has two cute little pigtails in the back, and is unisex enough that my girlieboy here can pull it off. (SLURL to Gritty Kitty)

Homages

What picture would you put in a locket? I guess it's what you'd hold close to your heart -- a warm memory, certain people, a moment in which nothing seems dark. ~silentsparrow~ released a lovely locket to match the Chapiteau set. The bottom is a cute animal cameo, the lid contains the photograph of your choice. (You can see hyasynth and I as gryphon pirates if you click the super-large flickr link.) I'm wearing the locket with ~silentsparrow's~ new Kurai jacket too -- a cropped tailcoat. I really like how shrugs look on my boy avatar. Must be his feminine side, eh? (SLURL to ~silentsparrow~)
Also, this is Gritty Kitty hair week. I'm going to be in nothin' but the Kitty for the next five days…just because. Today's style is Hathair, cute and close-cropped enough to show off my elegantly bejeweled SLink ears. (SLURL to Gritty Kitty)

Omnom

I stared at this skin for a long time before getting the demo. Did I really need a skin with a little overbite? Then I put on the demo and grudgingly admitted that it looked nice on me; I suppose it's a case of cuteness overcoming my staunch resistance to the new. This is the Keiko skin by Den-Dou, and never fear -- if you dislike the open mouth, the skin folder comes with a closed-mouth variety too. I'm elfing up today in MichaMi's new Rhia dress. Her clothing is so nicely-made and timelessly tasteful that you can pretend to be anything you like in them, from a little elven druid to a socialite. (SLURL to Den-Dou) (SLURL to MichaMi)
