The Chapel Perilous

The Chapel Perilous
(Another morality tale)
Starring Severina Dollinger as The Priestess
and Ach as The Parishioner

I met a lady in the meads,
Full beautiful- a faery's child,
Her hair was long, her foot was light,
And her eyes were wild.

She took me to her elfin grot,
And there she wept and sigh'd full sore,
And there I shut her wild wild eyes
With kisses four.

And there she lulled me asleep
And there I dream'd- Ah! woe betide!
The latest dream I ever dream'd
On the cold hill side.

(With thanks to Keats)

Shoe flowers, boobie shirts

Today, I have on an outfit from Zenith and new shoes from First Flower. These are the first shoes that Severina has made in a while, and they remind me of an adorable mary jane version of Schadenfreude's Lucent Bow Heels (photo below). The top and suspenders tickle me. I usually don't wear "flash mah bewb" shirts, but I totally got inspired by Ashia's awesome boobiness. Looks good with tattoos that are usually hidden by shirts! My necklace is an item from (Silver Wheel), and I fail to properly display it. Despite this I really like the playful heart motif, and I'm sure I'll stick it on in a blog post again. The hair is new from /artilleri/, and I swear I bought it before Ashia did :D.

My brain has both too much and too little on it, ever get that feeling? I spent the morning running around Georgia with my chibi, delighting her by taking her for sushi at a big awesome asian market. The produce there is amazing -- beets and kale and turnips and fresh herbs for peanuts. I feel hungry just thinking about it...

[Research] I am thinking more about how plurk extends the conversation we have in Second Life into the semi-real-world. In plurk, we aren't playing the game, so we get to see offline as well as online personalities (although fine, this happens in SL too). Conversations tend to range from dinner to annoyances at work to in-world concerns, with a fluid shift between topics, sometimes even within the same post. In-world, conversations seem to be a lot more formal, and mitigated by our avatars. We have to write around lag, and location...and we have a visual experience as well as a written one to affect our communication. In plurk, each topic is very much its own 'chatroom.' [End research]

Once upon a time I took a stroll by Grim Brothers. I peeked within and saw a host of frocks, one more imaginative than the last. There was a dress made all of metal and I thought of Grady; one made of blood and fantasy and I thought of Mourna, and then I saw the one made all of bone. I admit that I didn't quite have the wherewithal to put the entire ensemble on; I've mixed it with some of my favorite stark separates. Do go see the whole frock, just to marvel at the dangerous looking prim skirt made of bleached bone...

My avatar looks like the bad girl of the boarding school, here. She's getting ready for a night out on the town. "Dress properly and keep warm," the housemum warns.

Panty stocking no youna sora...

hyasynth Tiramisu makes some of the best lingerie in Second Life, but it's neatly hidden inside of outfits (like the Maida set panties, above) so that you're bound to cover it up with other pretty things. The Fond Affections corset set contains a bra on several layers; it looks stunning by itself, and in these pictures I'm trying to give this bra its due.

The dark skin was a Greatest Love hunt item from Den Dou. It looks like an Asian drow with a soft focus on the lips and Den-Dou's usual lovely detail on the eyes and skin shading. (Even if this skin isn't available any more, Den Dou has other dark skins that are totally fabulous.) Dark elf skin is perfect for displaying jewelry, and I'm wearing a choker, necklace, bracelet and watch from Jodiefied designs. I love the heart-motif choker especially; it would look excellent with High Victorian or Lolita wear.

My milk brings all the droogs to the yard...

Small follow-up to my girl-crush's post over here, this was my outfit for our Droog photoshoot. What do you get when you stick a bunch of interesting people into a Kubrick-esque room? You get chatter about the best latex, including much sighing about groin seams. Then, you get a lot of "rebake, please" and "my skin tone isn't pale enough!"

Note -- Luth's Handbag AO makes a fine override for carrying a spiky baseball bat. All of my posemaker SLURLs are now in a sidebar on my blog.

All in all, an awesome time.

Warming the bench at the milk bar

Grady, Mourna, Winter and I (and a host of willing victims) reenacted a scene from Clockwork Orange the other day. Grady posted her photos of the shoot here, and here is a pretty machinima by Al-Zahra that shows a walk through the room. You can see the rest of my photos here. Go photo yourself at Rumpledink Robbiani's Kubrick Rooms.

This post is missing something. Hm.

Yesterday, Dove Swanson offered people Blogger Appreciation Poses. The gist of it is that if you blog and actually credit posemakers, you could be eligible for these sets of poses for free -- read her notecard for more information. Of course, I got off my lazy blogger arse and hightailed it right over to Festivale, Dove's sim. While I was there, I got distracted by the build. It's a pretty place, a carnival that still has some life, that hasn't been taken over by gloom.

I grew up in a tiny town stuck in the middle of water, Hilo, Hawaii. The county fair was the biggest thing that happened to that town, and I went to my first one at age twelve. I went on many rides, until finally my stomach gave out at the top of the ferris wheel. I leaned over the side and puked my guts out on the poor guy running the machine below, much to the eternal, lasting embarrassment of my friends. Ah, the good old days.

While I was at Festivale I ran into Kellie Iwish and Persephone Paine. We paused and chatted for a moment. I'd run into these two the day before during a writing gig, but I hadn't had much time to visit. It struck me how small the Second World really is, that you can go somewhere completely random and run into people that you know... Or perhaps it's that the people I know tend to run in the same circles, and there are enormous numbers of people that I've never met because I'm just not into reenacting civil war battles in banana suits. (Or maybe I am!) ...Hm, there's something missing from this post...what could it be?

Lawless means business

After spending a frustrating hour trying my best to install "Click here to read more" on my blog, I finally gave up, but not after royally screwing up my blog layout. (Sigh. I think my archive link is permanently Italian now.)

Instead, you can see a gamix of Lawless and I shootin' each other up over here at a random LiveJournal. Moral: if you have 34K of inventory, one o' those items better be a gun!

Of skies of couple-color as a brinded cow

A few things.

-- Happy Japanese girl's day :D

-- If you aren't part of .:ellabella:.'s update group, you should be. The adorable rainbow lip piercing is today's group gift, and I love it. There are also two new shapes in the shape section of the shop!

-- The purse is new from (Shiny Things). It comes with several built-in AOs (some of the stands are shown below), one for dresses and one for pants -- the first purse I've ever owned that takes care of the AO for me. I'm awed!

-- This outfit is the result of typing "stripe" into my inventory search bar. :p

Buns like Padme

I saw the new limited edition DP**yumyum hair (found at its location at LE.LOOK) and thought: Padme. Therefore, I dug out all the white I owned to do a vaguely lolita take on her action outfit. Hmm, my white vinyl would've worked better, eh? At any rate, it's pretty hair, and it suits the demure skin I've got on by Tea Lane. I quite like the lips on this skin! They aren't so enormous they make me look like I've been injecting botox, and remind me of the soft retro look of /artilleri/ skins, in a nice way.

I'm huddled on the floor of Borders. Athens is a total mess -- we got a random freak snowstorm last night, and the power is out all over the place. On the plus side, I went out and played in the snow with my child, which is really one of those ultimate parent moments... She can lob snowballs like Naruto!

You are the dancing preen

Yesterday, hya and Ellantha swooped down upon me from above in gorgeous avatars. After staring at them for approximately 30 seconds I said, "Okay, where do I get it?" Then, I was the proud owner of a Tokushi Astren Griffin in black. After that, they took me to the furry dance club Moulin Rouge, and I was struck by a few things. First, that furry culture isn't what I'd envisioned. No, it's cool and creative with an extremely playful side. People who want to look part animal have huge capacities to imagine and play, and their roleplaying script reflects it.

Second, furry dance clubs are rockin'! There's a lot of richness to the interaction that I wasn't expecting. Even the furry strippers added animal parts to their stripping script, which made everything feel that much more surreal. Also, everyone was so goddamned adorable, tricked out to the nines in whatever their hooves, paws, horns, tails and wings allowed. The moral of the story is that I'll probably go back sometime, in this avatar.

The wingspan on this avatar is quite wide, and it comes with talking and flying animations, and options for personalizing.
