Yesterday, Dove Swanson offered people Blogger Appreciation Poses. The gist of it is that if you blog and actually credit posemakers, you could be eligible for these sets of poses for free -- read her notecard for more information. Of course, I got off my lazy blogger arse and hightailed it right over to Festivale, Dove's sim. While I was there, I got distracted by the build. It's a pretty place, a carnival that still has some life, that hasn't been taken over by gloom.
I grew up in a tiny town stuck in the middle of water, Hilo, Hawaii. The county fair was the biggest thing that happened to that town, and I went to my first one at age twelve. I went on many rides, until finally my stomach gave out at the top of the ferris wheel. I leaned over the side and puked my guts out on the poor guy running the machine below, much to the eternal, lasting embarrassment of my friends. Ah, the good old days.
While I was at Festivale I ran into Kellie Iwish and Persephone Paine. We paused and chatted for a moment. I'd run into these two the day before during a writing gig, but I hadn't had much time to visit. It struck me how small the Second World really is, that you can go somewhere completely random and run into people that you know... Or perhaps it's that the people I know tend to run in the same circles, and there are enormous numbers of people that I've never met because I'm just not into reenacting civil war battles in banana suits. (Or maybe I am!) ...Hm, there's something missing from this post...what could it be?
