Outfits by Zenith

Cajsa introduced me to a great wee design shop called Zenith. "I thought of you because it seemed like your style," she said, and she was right. I'm getting used to baring my tumtum (as my child calls it) in SL, especially if the outfit is worth it. In this case, the overt sexiness of a bare midriff is offset by the dorklicious argyle-patterned socks and skirt, and the designer follows through with cute accessories in the same pattern. The quality is nice, including a tiny prim skirt with attached belt that actually fits my scrawny arse for a change.

I'm wearing four different outfit using parts from Zenith, and I've spelled out how I've mixed them below in credits (sorry if it's confusing about which bit goes with which outfit!). I think I most dig those wrinkled-up pants. I don't think I've seen their like in SL before (you might have), and I know I'll be wearing them quite often.

People at work (part eight)

Olivia Connaught, Sysy Chapman

Welcome to another People at Work! It's winter holidays (well, at least in this hemisphere) and time for another round of herding people into my photoglobe. The first seven times were a lot of fun, and as promised, this will be a continuing series (whenever I can collect enough people for a post). Today was fun -- I finally hunted down the elusive Tesla (and ironically enough, we can't see her shoes), and Amyla came with a fit-looking baby bump. I've also got a range of designers, bloggers, and genuinely helpful people caught in the act of Second Living, and it was lovely to meet and capture them all.

Closeted bunneh?

Am not obsessed by Bunneh Avatar, honest. >_> Fine, I haven't taken it off in a while. It makes me feel strangely peaceful to hop into this avatar, as if part of me that always wanted to express myself as a slightly timeworn plushie has finally spoken up. Is this what furries feel like when they hop into costume? If so, I guess I get it. :D

Today, Bunneh is wearing an outfit from The Closet. Creamy was kind enough to give me a giftcard to the shop for Christmas, and I came away with a bunch of cute separates, including these pink plaid pants, raglan shirt, and stole. I've had the super-gorgeous feather necklace for a while. The hair seemed to suit a plushie, BP*'s sheep hair. A bunny in sheep's clothing? Hm.

How's everyone's boxing day going? What IS boxing day, for that matter? :D

On Dancer, on Prancer, on Achariya

I love those days in Second Life when I feel downright beautiful. Yesterday I managed to score the glorious Biba special edition from the Christmas stocking at the main store of Fleur (SLURL to shop here). It goes so well with this amazing Limited Edition coloring of the Maida (for the same price as the other Maida). hyasynth made it for herself to enter the Illusions Odocolaenai contest, but we managed to heckle her until she released it as a Christmas limited edition (SLURL to shop here). (As you can see, it perfectly matches the beautiful LE Odocolaenai horns from Illusions too.)

I'm wearing it with smaller horns, the free Christmas ones from Eat Rice. All together, I feel like a doe caught in Santa's headlights. Bet he'll make me the tenth reindeer!

(Small quiz: can you name them all? I had to look them up.)

Just rattle your jewelry

Look, Ashia, I'm totally your twin, *grin*. I've written about everything before except for these items of jewelry, which are Christmas presents from kindly pals. Phire was nice enough to get me Little Boy Blue jewelry (the waist chain and blindfold), and Ashia, the Sanu snowdrop set. I'm a huge sucker for teh shiny, so I equipped a few of the +10 charisma items I'd acquired over the past few days to accentuate it, including bits of the Maida outfit and pants from GothiCatz.

Along with all of these are lovely hoop earrings made by Brandy Rasmuson, and a choker made by Mourna Biziou. Damnit, guys, I can't make anything! Unless you'd like a lovely textured box?

Dress Me Up 18: Ach by Lookr and Elora

fayne said, Hi Achariya. Would love to see you in some pieces from Lookr, we've got a good selection of casual wear, with jackets, shirts, tops and various accessories to deck out in. We'd love to see what you can come up with!

Lookr has a very, very cool store! It's underwater, a series of glass bubbles connected by tubes -- despite this, it manages to be extremely elegant. I know I'll be spending more time wandering down there. I picked up a few items -- a cute little dress, a bolero jacket. The jacket is especially neat, a fun design that will appear on more outfits of mine, I'm sure. Thanks for the challenge!

Elora suggested: Why not somethink ethnic? Little fish qipao or some afro hair from bp?

I snagged the Little Fish Qipao POE dress, but when Tomo and Azriel sent me this Falln gown as a Christmas gift, I knew that this was the ethnic outfit of choice. I'm not sure what ethnicity -- perhaps otherworldly is a better description, eh? I'd like to imagine that this deer-woman stole her master's enormous rack of Illusions antlers and walked off into the snow by her lonesome, looking for warmer climes.

And with this last suggestion, I am done with my challenges. Yay, everybody, thank you for playing! It's been quite a remarkable adventure, and I'll get up the energy to do this during the Summer. *chuckle*

Dress Me Up 17: Ach by Arcadia

Another challenge answered, this one from Arcadia: How about some hair from Deviant Kitties and some clothes from GothiCatz? This outfit was really an exercise in seeing how many cat-themed shops I could get into my credits. We've got ... Electro Kitty, Atomic Kitty, Curious Kitties, Deviant Kitties and GothiCatz. Go me? After getting so catted-out, I scanned through lovely Miss Analu's blog to find a properly destroyed sim, and was soon in Saijo City.

I quite like the pants on this GothiCatz outfit, although I keep wanting to cover up my boobs.

***Ears and tail: Atomic Kitty Wolf Basic Set in black

Hop hop hoppity hop

This is not simply an excuse to wear the bunny avatar, honest. *cough* Sumomo of ~Momo~ (SLURL HERE) released a lovely set of thermals! One set has light bunny head prints, the other has darker skull prints, and there are an array of colors on many layers. They're totally soft looking. I'm going to pick up my av for a snuggle now.

Move over, Sugarplum Fairy

It is maddening and awesome when Allegory and hyasynth release new things on the same day. My wardrobe lies all strewn around my skybox and I can't figure out which to wear! In this case, I decided to wear both, because the two together worked well for a ballet...

The Mouse King (by Schadenfreude) is enacting his evil anti-Christmas agenda on the Nutcracker prince, only to be distracted by the sweep of a seductive skirt. It is the crow girl, Maida! But whose side is she on? Will she aid the ailing Nutcracker prince and his toy soldiers? Or will she rally behind the fluffy ones and help them steal the sugarplums?

Maida is whimsical -- her agenda is her own. I bet she helps both sides, steals the sugarplums, and flits away laughing in her mocking crow voice...

Allegory made the mousey mask for the Mouse King suit as well, and it has its usual million pieces. hyasynth's Maida dress comes with a dizzying array of options too, including corset, shrug, and bra on every layer, and three kinds of bottoms and two tails. Also notable in this outfit is the new hair from House of Munster, the Edgy. The bow is by Mochi of Pink Fuel, and I think the heavy bangs adds a corvid feel to the outfit. The shoes I had to get when I saw them on Azia -- mmm, such wrinkles and buckles!

Can we have CSR every day?

Please forgive me for another CSR squee. I absolutely love the DP**yumyum bunny avatar -- it's got such attitude for being deathly cute. I'm wearing it with Honey Kitty's group gift (blogged so nicely over here by Creamy), and the House of Munster Fluffeh hair. The hair was super-easy to refit due to the sizing script.

Fleur Biba/Dress Me Up 17: Ach by Candy

Imagine my sheepishness when Roslin poked me in her blog about Fleur's Biba skin. It's true, it's my favorite Fleur skin (and such a tough decision, all of the skins are lovely), and so when I got a small preview of the skins I Hoooooo'd ( \o/ ).

I quite adore the updated Biba. The lips are a touch fuller, but the 1930s film star glamour remains. The eyes have maintained their dark wash of makeup, and the cheeks their subtle shading. I especially like the way the eye makeup is blended -- it's dramatic but not garish at all. Great job as ever, Roslin!

The rest of my outfit is inspired by Candy: Pick something from Chapeau Tres Mignon that is utterly whimsical, and marry it with dreamy, romantic gown. I see something white, with enough ruffles and lace for a Shoujo manga. Annnd, some super sexy boots like the ones from J's or Bax.

I spent several days wandering around trying to find the perfect gown that was white AND fluffy. This must not be in vogue -- fluffy dresses are not often white, and white dresses are often sleek instead of fluffy. This dress isn't entirely white, but it is very definitely shoujo manga, and the white bits are madly fluffy. It's a new release from Curious Kitties, and comes with the added prize of a CSR card. Mmm, CSR (more CSR cuteness here).

The hat in question is Chapeau tres Mignon's La Pierrot hat, which prompted Draconic to say: "Ach, you have a face on your head." Yes, yes I do, and I really love the hat. I'm not sure I want to take it off...
