Paean to AnaLu

Hee hee hee. Here's my paean to AnaLu, and it's all Nissa's fault. She posted earlier about getting photoshop tips from Ana, and I had to go back and staaaare my way through Ana's blog. Crisp clean images with dropshadow behind the figure and a gradient background -- easy poses that highlight the outfit -- good lighting...I'm sure I'm missing something, but I'll keep trying. Thanks for being inspirational, you two.

I'm wearing a frock from one of amerie's Naughty's new releases, topped by the triceratops-like watermelon tourmaline horns and unicorn spike from Something Different. Happy birthday, Fine Delight, and thanks for making these really unique horns! The other lovely part of the outfit is from the ever-creative Bliensen + MaiTai, the Fragile Flowers jewelry. They were so pretty I had to stick on MiaSnow's drow skin to properly highlight the pale delicacy of the flowers.

Anyway. Please to enjoy my photoshopping0rz. I'll probably go back to the much simpler naturalistic photography tomorrow, but it's always fun to mess around.

Tee hee, dunno how I caught such a silly expression on my face.

***Hooves: Sharda Mirabeau's [OB] Faun Legs in Bay
***Tail: Queen Titania's Court faun in fire
***Hair: Calico Ingmann Creations Coronis in Sterling Ivory
***Skin: MiaSnow *mia* Steel Starlet skin 4
***Dress: amerie's Naughty *aN* Girl's Mind
***Jewelry: Bliensen + MaiTai Fragile Flowers necklace, bracelet and earrings
***Horns: Something Different by Fine Delight Watermelon Tourmaline Horns and unicorn horn (so that I can look like a triceratops)

fabulous job!! it's good to have a variety of tools in your toolbox, I always say :) Now, I need to work on that naturalistic photography you are doing so well!

awwww... Thank you!

The tips Nissa mention were:
I take my pics at 3200×2400 in a white backdrop (or black, depending on the outfit) inside the Photoshpere. In PhotoShop, I use the magic wand to past them to a white background and remove all the white (or black) in them. After composing the pic, I use as backdrop a gradient or a pattern. After flatten layers, I duplicated the layers, use gaussian blur and overlay of soft light. Another method to lighten the pics is using the exposure in the adjustment layers.
I try not to change the original picture. I want people to see the outfits exactly how they are.
I will make a tutorial one of these days.
