Big and boot-y

Boots. There are so many songs about boots. As I sat to write these words, my mind started to fill with poetry... Fitting, because I love boots, and the theme of this post is boots with stuff on them. In the words of Nancy Sinatra:

These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

Or perhaps you'll walk all over the place IN them instead.

Dark Depressions Skull Chain Boots

The other thing about boots is that they're made for hard work. Like dancing in clubs, or walking on ex-lovers, or wandering. I think I like the last reason for boots the best, and it made me think of childhood poetry...

Where am I going? I don't quite know.
Down to the stream where the king-cups grow-
Up on the hill where the pine-trees blow-
Anywhere, anywhere. I don't know.
(A.A. Milne)

First Flower ~ FF ~ Hollyhock Laced Black Shine Purple Laces

Did you know that there's an online compilation of poetry dedicated to Cowboy boots? They don't quite fit the theme of boots with stuff on them, sadly, but I understand the fetish.

You cynical types, I know what you'll say,
But I'll honor her love to my last lovin' day,
I continue to lose when I play with three suits,
But my hearts always go to the girl with the boots.
(James V. Miller)

::69:: (main shop) AntiqueBoots with Neko charms in black and brown

When I was chatting with Allegory about a few places to go to find boots, she said: "You must go Neko!" It's true. Neko style is all about hanging stuff off of the boots, and to prove it, ::69:: sells a set of cute charms for their AntiqueBoots that even have tiny cats clinging to them, and the word 'Neko' in case you missed the theme.

.:-CatniP-:. Slum Stompers (Sloshed) -- there's a dry version too

Boots with stuff on them are also useful. Like the ones with alcohol and cigarettes strapped to them. These boots are made for drinkin' and smokin'. Want free boots? Go check out Creamy's post here!

Carnival of Doom Unisex Laced Boots Skull

Has anyone else noticed how maddening yet pretty the new browser is? I can't adjust the lighting properly to save my life -- my face is thoroughly hidden in shadows -- but go to the right sim and there's a glorious burst of color all over the place. I took these photos at the ::69:: main store, and I couldn't believe what it looked like. Part Disney, part abandoned farmhouse, all awash in light.

(Other outfit details:)
***Hat: Carnival of Doom *CD* Tophat white and black v. striped

***Skin: MiaSnow *MIA* Dahlia The Starlet

Some quirky choices, most of all the "Sloshed" boots. Though I'm definitely impressed with the :69: main store -- what clever scenery!

Your boot article leaves this rogue in a state of frenzy. And those skull chainboots notwithstanding, I have an extreme weakness causing my knees to buck at the sight of striped stockings. And I must also thank you for purchasing "Regal" during your visit to New Toulouse. I hope you have some suitable little nook to hang it in.

Aw, thanks, Skusting!

Yes -- loved Regal! She's hanging on my wall-gallery, a happy home for her. *grin*
