I grew up during the 80s, which is my justification for why I like big hair. This hair is no exception, a new release from Nylon Outfitters. I love it like I love Flashdance, tight pegged jeans, and Reeboks.
Memory: I thought my first pair of Reeboks were exorbitantly expensive at forty dollars, and apologized like mad to my father for making him shell out for me. I wore them with Chic jeans (the ones with the tulip detail around the ankle, remember those?) and a baggy low-necked pink sweater. I thought I looked great in that outfit! Especially with my hair sprayed about seven feet up above my forehead. Of course, that was all to distract from the pimples...
Isn't it nice that SL skins are so totally unblemished? (Unless you want them to be.) Speaking of skins, I'm wearing my favorite from Laynie's recent work, "Dark Faerie." Love the lush dark lips and eyes, and you can now get it via OnRez. I'm also wearing Violet Voltaire's newest jewelry set, Glitterati. I fail at properly blogging this (like you can see black earrings against black hair) so I point you over to her blog to get a good look. I absolutely love the Victorian mourning quality of the cameo.
Draconic was nice enough to give her group members a beautifully made gift (further described here), two glovelets with little skulls on them. The skulls make me think Hamlet, again, as he stares at the skull of his dead jester Yorick:
Where be your gibes now? your gambols? your songs? your flashes of merriment that were wont to set the table on a roar? Not one now, to mock your own grinning?
Ahh, skulls. It's always useful to have one's clothing be a reminder of mortality.
