Christmas in corsets and skulls

A few things conspired to make me feel that special Christmas decadence today while I stood around my cold and snowy land. First, a lovely group gift of a scarf and tights from Kyoot Army. The little Christmas skulls (embossed on the fabric, which you sadly can't see in this photo) made me ponder death in the midst of all this rebirth. Quite appropriate, especially considering that my favorite Christmas movie is actually The Last Temptation of Christ, heh.

Second, Rosemary (creator of OH! WHAT A NEAT...BOUTIQUE) posted a notice that she finished making her holiday corsets. I get a visceral reaction to pretty clothes; they make me purr. I purred all over her black sequined corset, and I think I'm going to keep it on for a week. (Good thing the avatar doesn't sweat, eh?)

I'll leave you with this snippet that has been on my mind, simply because my bottom's cold from sitting on the snow all day:

Years and years ago, when I was a boy, when there were wolves in Wales, and birds the color of red-flannel petticoats whisked past the harp-shaped hills, when we sang and wallowed all night and day in caves that smelt like Sunday afternoons in damp front farmhouse parlors, and we chased, with the jawbones of deacons, the English and the bears, before the motor car, before the wheel, before the duchess-faced horse, when we rode the daft and happy hills bareback, it snowed and it snowed.
